Trois-Rivières, May 29, 2019 – The Trois-Rivières Port Authority (TRPA) is pleased to announce the appointments of Marie-Josée Gervais and Guylaine Laporte to its Board of Directors. These new directors were appointed for three- year terms by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council.

Ms. Marie-Josée Gervais holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations and a certificate in occupational psychology from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. For several years, she was a high-level triathlete and a professional cyclist. With a mission to democratize sport and promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles in Quebec, she founded Cyclo-Mauricie and les Défis du Parc, as well as creating and coaching the Les Roses Women’s Team. Her passion has allowed her to promote the Mauricie as a tourist destination. Ms. Gervais is known for her involvement with various organizations, including being a director of Tourisme Shawinigan since 2014.

Guylaine Laporte, CPA auditor, CGA, holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting sciences from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and was a member of the professional inspection committee of the Ordre des CPA du Québec. Ms. Laporte is a partner at Labranche Therrien Daoust Lefrançois Inc. and is very involved in various committees in her field of expertise. In addition to her professional skills, she is known for her rigour and attention to her clients. Since 2004, she has been involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Trois-Rivières, for which she has been Chairwoman of the Board for 13 years now.

Danielle St-Amand, Chairwoman of the TRPA Board of Directors, stated: “We are very pleased to welcome Marie-Josée Gervais and Guylaine Laporte to the Board of Directors. There is no doubt that they will put their rich expertise to work for the Port of Trois-Rivières, which has recently begun the deployment of its On Course for 2030 plan”.
