Marie-Josée Gervais holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations and a certificate in occupational psychology from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She was a high-level triathlete and a professional cyclist for several years. With a mission to democratize sport and promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles in Quebec, she founded Cyclo-Mauricie et les Défis du Parc. She created and coached Les Roses Women's Team, which participates in the Défis du Parc and has help more than 1000 women across Quebec to put physical activity at the heart of their daily lives.
Her passion helps promote the Mauricie region as a tourist destination and Ms. Gervais is well recognized for her involvement with various organizations. In 2016, she received the awards Female Business Personality of the Year at the Gala distinction Desjardins of the Shawinigan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tourism Personality of the Year given by Mauricie Tourism in 2013. Ms. Gervais has also served on the Board of Directors of the Fondation pour la Santé de Trois-Rivières and has been a director of Tourisme Shawinigan since 2014.
Guylaine Laporte, CPA auditor, CGA holds a bachelor's degree in accounting sciences from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and has been a member of the professional inspection committee of the Ordre des CPA du Québec since the unification of the three Orders, from 2012 to 2018. With more than 17 years of experience, Ms. Laporte is a partner at Labranche Therrien Daoust Lefrançois Inc. and member of various professional committees. She has distinguished herself among her clients through her expertise in accounting standards but also for her operational advice.
Since 2004, Ms. Laporte has been very involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Trois-Rivières, for which she has been Chairman of the Board for 13 years now.
GFélix Hamel holds a double bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship & Innovative Management and Finance from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. In 2011, he took over the reins of Thrace valeurs immobilières, a company offering property management and real estate development services. The company has several housing construction projects in Trois-Rivières. A developer, real estate investor and partner in the company for over 10 years, he is now President and CEO.
Mr. Hamel is involved in various community organizations, including the Caisse Desjardins de Trois-Rivières and the Société de développement commercial du centre-ville de Trois-Rivières.
A new member of the TRPA Board of Directors, Ms. France Cinq-Mars recently retired from the City of Trois-Rivières, where she worked as a manager for 34 years. With a degree in accounting and a CPA, CGA designation, she held a number of important management positions, including Director of Finance, Assistant General Manager, Administrative Services, and finally General Manager for the last six years of her career. She has thus acquired solid experience in the management of human, material and financial resources, and has a keen interest in innovation, best practices and sound governance. Ms. Cinq-Mars is involved in various community organizations, including as a director of the Pavillon St-Arnaud and as a volunteer for the food distribution program.
Mr. Ducharme earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Laval University and a Master's degree in project management from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. He has worked mainly in the chemical and explosives sector for the Olin Company (formerly CIL – ICI - Pioneer) since 1981. During his career, Mr. Ducharme has, among other things, held the positions of resident engineer in England, production Manager (explosives division of the McMasterville plant) and Director of engineering (Bécancour plant). Manager of the Bécancour plant. Presently Regional Canadian Manager for Olin Canada ULC. Member of the Board of directors of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) from 2009 to date. In 2001-2002 and from 2014 to 2017, he was President of the Board of Directors of the Comité des entreprises et organismes du Parc industriel de Bécancour.
Member of the Fondation de l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and has always been highly active in his milieu. From 2003 to 2012 he has been Chairman of the Board of the Port of Trois-Rivières President of the Board of directors of Canso Chemicals. LTD. President of Pension committee Olin Canada ULC. President of the Board of directors of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) since 2017.
A member of the Barreau du Québec since 1998, Me Véronique Néron specializes in business law, with a specific focus on the purchase/sale of businesses and tax and corporate reorganizations. Her practice is complemented by real estate, construction and personal law. Recognized by her peers, Me Néron has also given a number of lectures in her various fields of expertise.
Actively involved in her community, Me Néron also sits on the boards of the Institut secondaire Kerenna, the MultiBoulot organization and Noël du Pauvre. She has also served on the board of directors of the Fondation Santé Trois-Rivières, and was until recently a member of their governance committee.
Member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec since 1980, Mr. Jean Mongeau holds a License in law and a Notarial law degree from the University of Montreal. Previously, he worked for more than 28 years with the Port of Montreal’s management team as Assistant Secretary, Corporate Secretary and Vice-President, Legal Affairs, and Secretary.
Mr. Mongeau possesses in-depth knowledge of international and Canadian port operations and their applicable laws. He helped draft the Canada Marine Act and commented various proposed amendments to federal laws related to transport.
Certified as an Administrateur de Sociétés (ASC) by Laval University’s Collège des Administrateurs, Mr. Gaétan Boivin holds a Master's degree in Project Management and a Bachelor's degree in Administration with a Major in Maritime Transportation from the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). He began his career as a merchant marine officer then joined Transport Canada as a marine inspector for vessel safety. He initiated the UQAR bachelor’s degree program in maritime transportation and also taught classes. He was then named Director of the Institut Maritime du Québec before taking the helm of the Port of Trois-Rivières in 2006 with the firm intention of ensuring its strong positioning and development.
With a firm knowledge of the shipping industry, Mr. Boivin introduced the On Course for 2020 strategic plan, which was successfully completed in 2017. He is a member of various associations, including the Association of Canadian Port Authorities and the American Association of Port Authorities, for which he was Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Canadian Delegation. He is also a member of several maritime industry sectoral tables and committees, whose purpose is to ensure sustainable development.
Mr. Boivin is very involved in regional activities and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the UQTR and the RSTR Foundation. He also chaired the boards of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Trois-Rivières and the RSTR Foundation and is currently governor of the Jeune chambre de commerce de Trois-Rivières. He was a board member of the OSTR and honorary chair of several fundraising campaigns for various charities. His involvement, both professional and social, has helped showcase the Mauricie and the maritime industry.
It should be noted that the Port of Trois-Rivières has received numerous awards, including the “Coup de cœur – Fierté régionale” and the “Entreprise de services à l'entreprise” prizes awarded at the Gala Radisson in 2017 and 2009, respectively. Mr. Boivin also received the “Hommage à un bâtisseur” award from the Jeune chambre de commerce de Trois-Rivières in 2016.
