Trois-Rivières, February 22, 2022 – The Trois-Rivières Port Authority (TRPA) is pleased to announce the appointments of Mr. Félix Hamel and Mr. Denys Bernard to its Board of Directors. These new directors have been appointed for three-year terms by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council.
Mr. Hamel holds a double bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship & Innovative Management and in Finance from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He began his career as a financial and funding advisor at Desjardins. In 2011, he assumed the reins of Les Gestions Thrace Inc., a company offering real estate management services. Developer, real estate investor and partner in the company for nearly 10 years, he is now the president and CEO. Mr. Hamel is involved in his community through various organizations, including as an administrator for the Caisse Desjardins de Trois-Rivières.
Mr. Denys Bernard holds a bachelor’s degree in physical geography from the Université de Sherbrooke. He has also completed specific training in finance, financial management and taxation at the École nationale d’administration publique as well as in land management and economic development with Indigenousin Services Canada. Mr. Bernard has been the Executive Director of the Grand Conseil de la nation Waban-Aki since 2005. He is always seeking business opportunities that contribute to the development and growth of his organization, notably by allowing him to export the expertise he has developed to numerous First Nations communities and private organizations. Mr. Bernard is also involved as an administrator within the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission and the Mount Ham Regional Park.

With their proven skills and expertise, they will make a significant contribution to the deployment of our On Course for 2030 development plan”.
